Hi, I am Kelsey George.
I am an outpatient therapist who is currently working towards a professional license, so I participate in regular supervision. I will be starting my PhD in the fall of 2021 at Duquesne University. I received my master of science in counseling psychology at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I also received my bachelor of science in exercise physiology at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida.
In addition to being a psychotherapist, I am also a certified yoga teacher. I have been on multiple yoga, breath work, and meditation retreats that have greatly influenced my therapeutic approach. I also have experience working with at-risk youth, which included conducting psychological assessments, intake procedures, teaching yoga to children, and running group therapy.
The journey you will experience with me will have a spiritual touch and is rooted in the mind-body connection. In therapy, we will work together to design an evidence-based treatment approach, built on the foundation of the collaborative therapeutic alliance. I specialize in overall wellness, mindfulness practices, spirituality, positive psychology, relational communication, humanistic psychology, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I also provides yoga therapy, where I incorporate yoga practices with psychotherapy.
I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families in areas of depression, anxiety, self-worth, mood disorders, communication, relationships, and stress management. My philosophy is that that while I am your guide, you are the leader.
I am accepting new clients. I accept Cigna insurance and private pay. My private pay rate is $100 and a sliding scale if that’s not affordable.
